FAQ

What is required before the appointment?

To gain the most benefit out of your travel consultation, please come fully prepared. You should bring your itinerary, including all countries you plan to visit, duration of stay, planned activities, immunization records and/or proof of immunity (titers) if available.

How far in advance to come in?

Most vaccines take time to become effective and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of days or sometimes weeks. Ideally, set up an appointment 4 to 6 weeks before your trip. Shorter time spans are acceptable. Make a travel appointment as soon as you know your itinerary so we can discuss your needs.

Will medical insurance cover travel visit and vaccinations?

Please be aware that your medical insurance will not cover travel consultations and vaccinations in preparation for travel, so be prepared to pay for your visit and vaccinations at the time of your visit. Travel consultations vary in price depending upon the number of vaccines you will be getting. However we will provide you with a detailed super bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement to you. We do accept Discover, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

All Travel Consultations are separate visits and cannot be combined with any other type of office visits.
